Based on a still image, each spot was removed from the corridor wall in Photshop to leave a clean hallway. Vector spots were then animated in After Effects with a green-screen video of the business man added to the still image.
After hunting through Getty's library, we managed to find this piece of video which matched the existing cover image. With a little cropping and colour correction it was indistinguishable from the original.
This was simpler than it looks. The coloured areas of the image were deep etched and made into separate layers. Each layer then had its hue adjusted and key-framed in After Effects.
The building and foreground was etched and a video was placed in behind.
Using still imagery, I was 'fishing' for an idea for this cover. A slight displacement map and camera shift gives a little depth to the final image.
